The Childhood Enrichment Center, located within Christ United Methodist Church, donated $1,389.25 to Kids Path from the proceeds of its 2015 Art to Remember campaign. This unique fundraiser offers students an opportunity to create a piece of art that can be transferred and reproduced onto a variety of keepsakes. Even the babies in the nursery program create art using their tiny foot prints. This art is sold to friends, family members and neighbors, and the proceeds are donated to Kids Path for the benefit of its spring 2016 CHAMP camp. To help the students understand the value of their fundraising, representatives from Kids Path bring puppets to visit with the 4-year-olds and the pre-k classes. Aarvy Aardvark and Ralphie Rabbit engage the children in a discussion of big feelings and ask them to identify those with whom they can find support. Established in the 1960s, the Childhood Enrichment Center offers a weekday program comprised of 15 classes for children ages 3 months to pre-k. The director, Kathy Sinopoli, explains that its nine-year partnership with Kids Path has not only generated donations totaling more than $7,700 but has also enabled the children at the center to experience the joy of helping other children in need, right here in their home community.
